Still here, just inundated with Covid bullshit, so honestly, my material is pretty limited in the healthcare field, because WE are all out dealing with Covid.

Now I am going to be Frank (yeah read on and watch this). You don’t know shit about virology, epidemiology, and most of you are not frontline practitioners. To those who are frontline staff, I appreciate you and thank you, but I didn’t learn shit about virology and epidemiology as an NP, let alone an RN.

I will tell you who is worse; politicians that are influencing their knuckle-dragging masses to think Covid is anything but a pandemic, that it can’t make people sick, is going to keep coming back until we find a treatment and a cure for it. Quite honestly, our government failed, and I am sick as fuck of this damage control of our image than actually doing something about it.

Yeah, I said knuckle-dragging.

Look to soften the blow we have had this idea floated and forced on us that all points of view are equally valid. Nope, not even close. Even more dangerous is the concept that you are equipped to judge the merit of points of view like anyone else.
“Hear all sides, judge for yourself,” fuck the experts. I do not like this death of expertise, and you should not either. As a society, we have people who are experts in things. I am “good” with a computer, but I am not a programmer or a network guy. When I need that, I call those people. Right now, on my days off, I am trying to fix a new to my pick-up. It is having some electrical issues, and while I am handy with things at times, I am not the best chasing this fault. I may have to go to an expert (mechanic) so that it is fixed properly. The point here is that I am an expert in very few things.

However, where I am an expert has been hard (and expensively) learned through study, work, aptitude, and in the trench experience. None of this comes from Google (or Trump) University. The bottom line here is that unless you are an expert in the same areas that I am in, your opinion is not as valid as mine. That is not elitist; it is a fact. To discount it with your watching a news outlet, listening to a politician, googling, or trying to parrot an expert with your logic is just fucked.

Just because I am an expert in my field doesn’t qualify me in other fields (even if I am Frank). I am a medical provider, and even though I have had extensive medical experience, I am not an expert in virology, epidemiology, and the like, nor do I pretend to be. If a virologist releases information, precautions, and updates about a subject, and a couple of now-discredited doctors say that it is incorrect; you don’t “look at both sides to see which one makes sense. You are a fool if you think you are not vulnerable to confirmation bias.

We are there. I would not presume to make a formal statement of my assessment of this, as this is not where I am an expert. Two doctors that work in an ER may be experts on the symptoms they have seen, but are certainly not experts on virology, or how the disease has impacted populations outside what they have seen in the ER. Their opinion is shit; there I fucking said it fight me. They are doing the absolute worst in this situation and spouting far and wide an opinion that has little basis in fact and a lot of foundation in how they believe things should be. Nope, don’t work that way fuckers and continuing to be Frank (see what I am doing here?) you need to stay in your lane and stop trying to tell me I am wrong or fucking protest or try and block me on the way to work. I don’t come down to Burger King and tell you how to do your job…and because you lack the expertise, Hannity lacks expertise, Donnie, Jared, Mitch, Ted Nugent, or what other entertainer wants you to believe because it keeps them in business. That’s it, they make their money with their confirmation bias, and you buy it hook, line, and sinker. There a lot of people right now who would gladly lick one of these “performer’s” asses, then follow the simple truth from an expert. Please don’t tell me that Sean Hannity is an expert on anything except a fast-talking entertainer, that is carefully scripted to sell and agenda.

Stay in your lane and expertise and let the people that know the shit see the data and use that knowledge to develop a plan to deal with this virus do their jobs without your threats and insults.

Put your fucking guns away and put your mask on. Also, wash your damn hands.
