Why do I have to scream constantly about vaccinations?  Is anyone listening?  Is this thing on? HELLO?

Measles seems to be spreading nicely, thank you, everyone. It is getting bad enough that Nursie poo is about to release the flying monkeys and bats, at least they have been vaccinated.  I know I live an odd life but, are we so stupid that we don’t get vaccinated (oh wait we elected an anti-vaxxer as president, yeah he is on the record about it). As my drill sergeant said one cold morning, “You are just an excellent example of a dumb ass.”

Insults aside, the measles is not a benign disease.  Here is data from the (evil shrill of big pharma..ugh you people, this is extreme sarcasm I love the CDC) CDC:

Severe Complications

Some people may suffer from severe complications, such as pneumonia (infection of the lungs) and encephalitis (swelling of the brain). They may need to be hospitalized and could die.

• As many as one out of every 20 children with measles gets pneumonia, the most common cause of death from measles in young children.
• About one child out of every 1,000 who get measles will develop encephalitis (swelling of the brain) that can lead to convulsions and can leave the child deaf or with intellectual disability.
• For every 1,000 children who get measles, one or two will die from it.

Measles may cause a pregnant woman to give birth prematurely, or have a low-birth-weight baby.

Long Term Complications:

Subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE) is a very rare, but fatal disease of the central nervous system that results from a measles virus infection acquired earlier in life. SSPE generally develops 7 to 10 years after a person has measles, even though the person seems to have fully recovered from the illness. Since measles was eliminated in 2000, SSPE is rarely reported in the United States.

Among people who contracted measles during the resurgence in the United States from 1989 to 1991, 4 to 11 out of every 100,000 were estimated to be at risk for developing SSPE. The risk of developing SSPE may be higher for a person who gets measles before they are two years of age.

Since folks have decided not to get the MMR vaccine encephalitis is on the rise. It will kill you in a matter of hours after it develops.  In interesting news, it also seems the measles is also great at wiping your immune system.  From Princeton University:

The measles virus can cause serious disease in children by temporarily suppressing their immune systems. This vulnerability was previously thought to last a month or two; however, a new study shows that children may live in the immunological shadow of measles for up to three years, leaving them highly susceptible to a host of other deadly diseases.

Holy shit Karen not only is your lack of vaccination going to cause all the possible side effects above you may make them susceptible to others.

The study, published in the journal Science, was led by researchers from the University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. The study provides epidemiologic evidence that measles may throw the body into a much longer-term state of “immune amnesia,” where essential memory cells that protect the body against infectious diseases are partially wiped out.

The ignorance of science is just too much here.  Not only are you putting your children at risk, but you are also putting immunosuppressed people at risk, just because you want to help a playboy model sell her book and a dude who did a debunked study buy a mansion off the royalties (and people wonder why Nursie poo hates to leave the castle)

Please, folks, there is a lot of bullshit on the internet.  Take some time to be correctly informed.  A great many scientists have studied for years and didn’t need to explain themselves to Karen, a playboy bunny with a book, and Deuce Bigelow.
